Owners Club Cars: The Low Down on Breakdown

Flux Offers Full Breakdown Cover, However Non-Standard Your Car

If you’ve got an unusual motor, you might find you have trouble getting help from the roadside rescue services, because they may not offer you a full package. Now Adrian Flux Insurance is offering its Breakdown cover for all cars, including non-standards, classics and modifieds, with all the services you get for a standard car, such as roadside assistance, relay, homestart and European cover, all for £42.

“Most of the standard roadside rescue services don’t like non-standard or unusual cars,” says Flux’s Gerry Bucke. “For example, they hate modified cars with lowered suspension – it complicates matters if the car needs towing or loading onto a breakdown truck.”

Flux insures loads of non-standard cars, so it’s no surprise that the company is willing to push the boat out. “Flux Breakdown is an optional extra, we offer it as a package with car insurance,” explains Bucke. “It’s a lot cheaper than standard roadside assistance, which costs anything up to £100 including the extras that we bundle in for just £42.”

And if the broken-down car is non-standard? “No worries, our roadside rescue guys have special low-loaders that can pick up anything, however weird and wonderful,” says Bucke.
