| My 6 volt 1300 Volks [BTB 206E]has been in the family
since new when it was bought in Feb.1967 by my Father. When he died in
Sept.1976 it became mine and it had 14,000 miles on the clock. Since then
I have have in the subsequent 31 years driven 78,000 miles. I have all the
M.O.T. certs since 1977 and had the car regularly serviced especially in
the last 15 years by the same mechanic. It has had work done on it in order to keep up both its appearance and its engine/chassis reliability.This was done mainly at Kingfisher Customs in oldbury or by the team organised by the mechanic who services the car in Saltley. t has been garaged all the time I have had it and does not ever get left outside. The insurance company through the AA on a classic car certificate assessed its value upon examination at £6000.I will be advised on this figure as my realism is based on insurance advice and Terry Stevens about whom we have both mentioned. However I feel that amount is a fair price for the car that has been looked after affectionatly in a similar manner to what my Father saw fit. |
